An Act to prevent prescription fraud.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 2 of Chapter 111 is hereby amended by adding the following after the words “specific rules and regulations that are not in conflict with the rules and regulations authorized by this section”:---
The commissioner shall develop a tamper-proof prescription pad or electronic system to be utilized by individuals licensed in accordance with Section 9 of Chapter 94C of the Massachusetts general laws.
The commissioner shall make a report of its plan to
carry out the provisions of this section to the senate president, the speaker of the house, the house and senate chairs of the joint committee on public health and the joint committee on health care financing, the senate clerk and the house clerk not longe
r than six months after the passage of this act.
