An Act relative to the notification of mammographic examinations.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same
, as follows:
Chapter 111 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after section 184C the following section:-
Section 184D. A physician, health care facility or hospital ordering a mammographic examination for a patient shall notify said
patient of results indicative of malignancy or highly suggestive of malignancy within five (5) business days of receiving the results of said examination. Any violation of this section shall be reported to the Department of Public Health and the Health Ca
re Quality and Cost Council for public reporting purposes.
