An Act prohibiting junior operators use of cell phones or text messaging devices while driving.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Section 8 of chapter 90 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2006 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the fifth paragraph the following 2 paragraphs:-
No persons holding a junior operator’s license shall operate a motor vehicle while using any type of cellular telephone to engage in a call.
No person holding a junior operator’s license shall write a text message or use 2 hands to type or operate an electronic or telecommunication device while operating a motor vehicle.
