:
Pursuant to the provisions of Article II, Section 8, Paragraph 1, Clause (2) of the Amendments to the Constitution, as amended by Article LXXXIX, I am filing for your consideration the attached legislation entitled, “An Act Validating
The Actions Taken At The Annual Town Election Held In The Town Of
Plympton
.”
Senate President Murray, Representative
Calter
and the Town of
Plympton
board of selectmen have requested that I file this legislation to validate the May 16, 2009, annual town election and all actions taken pursuant to the election. Absent this legislation, the town would have to hold a special town election, which would further strain the town’s budget and unnecessarily delay eliminating any potential challenges to the school committee’s governance.
Accordingly, I urge your early and favorable consideration of this bill.
Respectfully submitted,
Sincerely,
DEVAL L. PATRICK,
Governor.
