An Act EXEMPTING THE
CITY OF SPRINGFIELD FROM CERTAIN PROVISIONS OF THE GENERAL LAWS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Notwithstanding the provisions of chapter thirty B of the General Laws or any other general law or special law to the contrary, the city of Springfield is hereby authorized to enter to a lease agreement with the
Forest Park Zoological Society, Inc.
(herein
after “
Society
”)
to lease and operate the "Forest Park Zoo" located within Forest Park, in S
pringfield Massachusetts
,
including the land and building
s, as described below,
for a term
not to exceed
twenty-five years,

nder such terms and conditions as the c
ity of Springfield and the
Society
may agree from time to time.
The Forest Park Zoo property is described as follows:

SECTION 2.
The Society may set and charge, subject to the approval of the board of park commissioners of said cit
y, reasonable fees for admission to any facilities or improvements made upon said parcel of land.
SECTION 3.
This act shall take effect upon its passage.
