To the Honorable Senate and House of Representatives:
Pursuant to the provisions of Article II, Section 8, Paragraph 1, Clause (2) of the Amendments to the Constitution, as amended by Article LXXXIX, I am filing for your consideration the attached legislation entitled, “An Act Making a Technical Correction in
a Special Law Relative to Certain Land in the Town of Sherborn.”
Representative Linsky
and the Sherborn Board of Selectmen have requested that I file this special legislation on behalf of the Town to correctly identify a parcel of conservation land which the Town seeks to use for recreational purposes. Chapter 154 of the Acts of 2001 was a
home rule petition that enabled the Town to transfer a parcel of land from conservation to recreation. After the passage of the bill it was brought to the Town’s attention that the Special Act contained an incorrect property description. This legislatio
n will make the correction and enable Sherborn to enter into a partnership to use the land for recreational purposes.
I urge your early and favorable consideration of this bill.
Respectfully submitted,
DEVAL L. PATRICK,
Governor.
