In the Year Two Thousand and Nine

An Act relative to civil service positions in the City of Pittsfield.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Section 1.
All non-union and non-association positions in the City of Pittsfield, except Chief of Police and Chief Engineer of the Fire Department, shall be exempt from chapter 31 of the General Laws.
Section 2.
As authorized by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City of Pittsfield and the Pittsfield Supervisory and Professional Employees Association, all supervisory, professional and clerical positions shall be exempted from chapter 31 of the General Laws.
Section 3.
As authorized by the Collection Bargaining Agreement between the City of Pittsfield and the Pittsfield Municipal Engineers Association, all municipal engineer positions shall be exempted from chapter 31 of the General Laws.
Section 4.
As authorized by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City of Pittsfield and Local 861, State Council #93 of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, all positions in the Department of Public Works and the Department of Public Utilities shall be exempted from chapter 31 of the General Laws.
Section 5.
As authorized by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City of Pittsfield and the Pittsfield Emergency Telecommunications Dispatchers IUE-CWA, Local 81256, all dispatcher positions shall be exempted from chapter 31 of the General Laws.
Section 6.
Section 1, 2, 3
,4
, and 5 of this Act shall not impair the civil service status of any incumbent employee holding their position on the effective date of this Act.
Section 7.
This Act shall take effect upon its passage.
