An Act increasing the survivor benefits payable to the surviving spouse of Wesley
Boutelle
.
Whereas
,
The
deferred operation for this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is forthwith to make it in the best interest of Wesley
Boutelle
and his surviving spouse, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate pres
ervation of the public convenience.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1.
Notwithstanding section 12 of chapter 32 of the General Laws or any other general or special law to the contrary, the state board of retirement shall pay to Wesley
Boutelle
, a retired state police officer, the retirement allowance to which he is entitled under option (b) of subdivision (2) of said section 12 of said chapter 32, but, upon his death, his surviving spouse shall receive a retirement allowance equal to the amount she would have received as Wesley
Boutelle’s
surviving beneficiary if he had elected option (c) of said subdivision (2) of section 12 of chapter 32 of the General Laws when he retired.
