An Act to recruit and retain certain physicians in the Commonwealth.
 

              Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

              SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of Chapter 112 or Chapter 175 of the General Laws or any other general or special law to the contrary, every risk management organization which provides professional liability insurance to a registered physician in the Commonwealth shall offer policies for prorated or rate credit premiums for board certified obstetricians / gynecologists who choose to practice in a part-time capacity and board certified gynecologists who treat pregnant patients to 40 weeks gestation who choose to practice in a part-time capacity.

              SECTION 2. The Commissioner of Insurance is hereby directed to promulgate rules and regulations in accordance with the provisions of chapter 30A of the General slaws to implement the provisions of Section 1 of this Act.  Said regulations  shall include but not be limited to the establishment of  the minimum and maximum number of monthly surgeries and hours of practice for said board certified obstetrician / gynecologists to qualify for such prorated or rate credit premium and the minimum and maximum hours of practice for said board certified gynecologists treating pregnant patients to 40 weeks gestation.
