The Commonwealth of Massachusetts
An Act allowing for streamlined tax title taking for cities and towns.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Section 81B of Chapter 60 of the General Laws, is hereby amended by deletion of the following sentence, as follows:
Upon the recording of the affidavit, the treasurer shall bring a petition in the land court pursuant to section 65 for the foreclosure of all rights of redemptions of the land.
and replacing it with a sentence which reads as follows:
The recording of the affidavit shall serve to extinguish all rights of redemption of the land and the title shall vest with the city or town.
