An act relative to lists of examination for civil service. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: Notwithstanding section 25 of chapter 31 of the General Laws or any other law to the contrary, any person eligible for original appointment to the position of police officer according to the grade such person received on the examination for police officer on the June 28, 2008 examination, who: (1) served as a member of the armed forces of the United States; and (2) was on active duty status and assigned to a theater of combat operations after January 1, 1990 shall continue to be eligible for such position or appointment to the position of police officer on the 2009 eligibility list and shall have the standing on the 2009 list determined by the results of said 2008 examination which shall be transferred to the March 16, 2010 list as established by the June 2009 examination for police officer. |
