Joyce (by vote of the town) that the town of Stoughton be authorized to establish the position of deputy police chief and exempt said position from the provisions of civil service law. The Commonwealth of Massachusetts
An Act establishing the position of Deputy Chief of the Stoughton Police Department and exempting the position from the civil service laws.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. The Town of Stoughton may establish the position of Deputy Chief of Police in the Stoughton Police Department.
SECTION 2. Notwithstanding the provisions of any general or special Law to the contrary, the position of Deputy Chief of Police in the Stoughton Police Department shall not be subject to the provisions of Chapter 31 of the General Laws.
SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
