An Act relative to medical examinations for life insurance policies. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: SECTION 1. Section 124 of chapter 175 of the general laws, as appearing in the 2008 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the word “misleading.”, in line 9, the following-: For the purposes of this section, a medical examination is an examination by a physician, physician assistant, registered nurse, licensed practical nurse, nurse practitioner or other health care provider who is licensed or registered pursuant to the General Laws and is acting within the scope of said license or registration. A medical examination also includes review of an applicant’s medical records by a qualified physician who is licensed and registered pursuant to the provisions of chapter 112. |
