The Commonwealth of Massachusetts
An Act requiring the screening of newborns for congenital heart defects.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Section 1 Chapter 111 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after section 224 the following new section:
The Department shall expand statewide screening of newborns to include pulse oximetry screening for critical congenital heart disease a minimum of 24 hours after birth but prior to discharge. |
