An Act relative to reprogrammed human skin cells for embryonic stem cell research. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: Subsection (a) of section 3 of chapter 111L of the 2010 General Laws, is hereby amended, in line 2, by striking out the words, “embryonic stem” and inserting in place thereof the following word:-- skin. Subsection (b) of section 3 of chapter 111L of the 2010 General Laws, is hereby amended, in line 1, by striking out the words, “embryonic stem” and inserting in place thereof the following word:-- skin. Subsection (b) of section 8 of chapter 111L of the 2010 General Laws, is hereby amended, in line 8, by striking out the words, “Nothing in”. Subsection (c) of section 8 of chapter 111L of the 2010 General Laws, is hereby amended, in lines 15-16, by striking out the words, “or from donating their gametes to another person or from donating their gametes for research.” Section 10 of chapter 111L of the 2010 General Laws, is hereby amended by striking out subsection (f) in its entirety. Subsection (a) (i) of section 12J of chapter 112 of the 2010 General Laws, is hereby further amended by striking out the following paragraph:- For the purposes of this section, "fetus" shall also include an embryo, but shall exclude a pre-implantation embryo or parthenote as defined in section 2 of chapter 111L and obtained in accordance with said chapter 111L. Section 12K of said chapter 112 of the 2010 General Laws, is hereby further amended by striking out, in line 15, the words "implantation of the embryo in the uterus" and inserting in place thereof the following word:- fertilization. Section 7 of chapter 113 of the 2010 General Laws, is hereby further amended by striking out, in the definition of "Part" or "Parts", the following words:--“but a gamete, as defined in section 2 of chapter 111L, shall be donated in accordance with said chapter 111L.” |
