The Commonwealth of Massachusetts
An Act to promote pedestrian safety.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Section 17 of Chapter 84 of the General Laws is hereby amended by adding a second paragraph as follows: “A person shall not be liable for an injury or damage sustained upon a public way by reason of snow or ice thereon, if the person removed snow or ice from the public way in accordance with municipal ordinance or by-law. |
