The Commonwealth of Massachusetts
An Act relative to accreditation bodies for forensic and scientific analysis.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Subsection (b) of section 8 of chapter 278A of the General Laws, as appearing in chapter 38 of the acts of 2012, is hereby amended by striking out the words “the American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors Laboratory Accreditation Board” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- an accreditation body that is a signatory to the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation Mutual Recognition Agreement and offers forensic laboratory accreditation services.
SECTION 2. The first sentence of subsection (c) of said section 8 of said chapter 278A, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out the words “the American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors Laboratory Accreditation Board” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- an accreditation body that is a signatory to the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation Mutual Recognition Agreement and offers forensic laboratory accreditation services.
