An Act relative to apprenticeship programs. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: SECTION 1. Section 11H of chapter 23 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2010 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting, in line 12, after the word “instruction” the following words:- which shall be monitored by a proctor certified through the division of apprentice training. SECTION 2. Said section 11H of chapter 23, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by inserting, in line 20, after the word “training” the following words:- which shall be monitored by a proctor certified through the division of apprentice training. SECTION 3. Said section 11H of chapter 23, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by striking out the definition “apprenticeship program” and inserting in place thereof the following definition:- “Apprenticeship Program”, a program which is registered with the division for recruitment, selection, employment, training and qualification of apprentices, prior to bidding on public projects and will commit to having apprentices on jobsites by 90 calendar days after start of contract. SECTION 4. Said section 11H of chapter 23, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by striking out the definition “apprenticeship program sponsor” and inserting in place thereof the following definition:- “Apprenticeship Program Sponsor”, a person, association, committee, organization, corporation, partnership, trust or other entity operating an apprentice program prior to bidding on public projects and will commit to having apprentices on jobsite by 90 calendar days after start of contract. |
