An Act relative to alimony payments. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: Clause (1) of sub-section (f) of section 49 of chapter 208 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2010 official edition, is hereby amended by inserting, at the end thereof, the following sentence:- "A finding by the court that (a) the length of the marriage was longer than 20 years and (b) the payor was within 10 years of full retirement age, or older, at the time of the divorce, may satisfy the requirement of good cause shown, and in such cases, the court may order that if the payor continues to work after attaining the full retirement age, alimony shall continue." |
