An Act relative to the possession of dangerous open flame devices. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: Chapter 148 of the General Laws is hereby amended by adding the following section:- Section 61 (a) No person shall sell, keep, or offer for sale or have in his possession, or under his control, or use any unmanned free-floating device, which directly or indirectly uses an open flame for means of propulsion or otherwise contains an open flame therein when released. (b) Whoever violates this section shall be punished by a fine of not more than $500 plus the cost of extinguishment or by imprisonment for not more than 1 month or both. (c) The board may promulgate regulations governing the safe use of these devices to accommodate special occasions, including but not limited to, religious or cultural needs as it deems necessary. |
