An Act to mitigate co-payment rates pursuant to care provided by physician assistants and nurse practitioners. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: SECTION 1: Chapter 176O of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after section 22 the following new section: Section 23: Notwithstanding any general or special law or any rule or regulation to the contrary any co-payment rate charged to a patient corresponding to the cost of exclusive care provided by a Physician Assistant, as defined in section 9E of chapter 112 of the General Laws, or a Nurse Practitioner, as defined in section 1 of chapter 176R of the General Laws, shall be adjusted to equal a co-payment rate in proportion to the co-payment rate pursuant to the corresponding cost of care provided by a physician, as defined in section 71 of chapter 93 of the General Laws. |
