The Commonwealth of Massachusetts
An Act relative to veteran charity fraud.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Section 1: Section 28 of chapter 68 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2010 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding the following subsection after subsection (e): (f) No person shall make any representation that he is soliciting contributions for or on behalf of veterans unless the person soliciting contributions (1) is a veteran or discloses to the source of the donation that he is not a veteran and (2) discloses to the source of the donation the percentage of the donation that will directly benefit veterans. |
