An Act relative to municipal services. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: SECTION 1. Section 4A of chapter 40 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2010 Official Edition, is hereby amended after the first paragraph by adding the following:- Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the chief executive officer of a city or town, with the approval of the City Council or Town Meeting, shall determine who, when and how municipal services shall be provided on all property and land within its municipal boundaries regardless of the ownership or control of the property or land. Nothing herein shall prohibit the municipality from entering into an agreement with another municipality, state entity or agency and/or another governmental agency to provide or share in providing said services. This section shall not apply to Federal property. |
