An Act relative to the age limit of certain clerks of courts. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: SECTION 1. Section 8 of Chapter 218, as so appearing in the 2010 official edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the first paragraph the following sentence:- Clerks who are appointed by the Governor shall serve until age sixty five. SECTION 2. Section 4, of Chapter 211, as so appearing in the 2008 official edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the last paragraph the following paragraph:- If the Committee for Responsibility for Clerks recommends to the Supreme Judicial Court, the Clerk’s removal, suspension or other reprimand, the court after hearing and reaching a decision, shall issue said decision within thirty days. The clerk shall be represented by the Attorney General. All Attorney fees and legal expenses incurred by the Clerk in defense of the charges against him, shall be paid by the Clerk if the Clerk refuses to be represented by the Attorney General. |
