An Act to promote Medicaid generic drug competition and savings.
 

              Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

                              SECTION 1.  Chapter 118e of the General Laws is hereby amended by adding the following new section:-

                              Section 63.

              The Commonwealth shall require all generic drug manufacturers whose products are to be provided to Medicaid recipients to compete in a competitive bid process to ensure that the Medicaid recipients are provided with quality generic products at a competitively bid low cost.

                              SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect upon passage.
