[SIMILAR MATTER FILED IN PREVIOUS SESSION
An Act relative to elections in the city of Revere. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: Section 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, any person seeking election to public office in the City of Revere shall have his or her name appear on the ballot for only one elective office that is one elective office at a time. Section 2. Any person seeking election in the City of Revere as mayor, councilor at large or school committee member shall have been a resident of the City of Revere for a period of at least one year before the deadline for submission of the person’s nomination papers to the City of Revere Election Commission. Section 3. Any person seeking election in the City of Revere as a councillor elected from a ward shall be a resident of that ward for a period of at least one year before the deadline for submission of the person’s nomination papers to the City of Revere Election Commission Section 4. This act shall take effect upon its passage. |
