An Act relative to fire protection systems.
 

              Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

              Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, Chapter 148 of the general laws is hereby amended by adding the following new section:-

              Section 1. Section 26C ½

              In any city, town, or district which accepts the provisions of this section, the head of the fire department shall determine in accordance with the provisions of NFPA 72, the method and manner of supervision for all fire protective signaling systems and automatic fire detection systems required to be installed in any new or existing building or structure.

              Section 2.

              The provisions of this section shall take effect one year after the date of acceptance as provided for in section 1.
