An Act relative to public employees raising funds for their own candidacy. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: SECTION 1. Section 13 of chapter 55 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after the words “No person employed for compensation, other than an elected officer, by the commonwealth or any county, city or town shall directly or indirectly solicit or receive any gift, payment, contribution, assessment, subscription or promise of money or other thing of value for the political campaign purposes of any candidate for public office”, in the first sentence, the following: — “other than himself or herself” |
