By Ms. Provost of Somerville, a petition (accompanied by bill, House, No. 3085) of Denise Provost for legislation to prohibit the use of a mobile phone while operating a motor vehicle on any public way.  Transportation.

An Act relative to safe driving.
 

              Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

              SECTION 1.  Section 9 of Chapter 155 of the Acts of 2010 is hereby amended by striking the first sentence and inserting in place thereof the following:-

              “,Section 13B. (a) No operator of a motor vehicle shall use a mobile telephone, as defined in Section 3, while operating a motor vehicle on any public way."
