The Commonwealth of Massachusetts
An Act relative to acute care hospital financial reports .
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Section 1. Chapter 118G of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after section 41, the following section:-
Section 42. Acute care hospitals licensed by the Department of Public Health must submit quarterly reports to the Division of Health Care Finance and Policy which outline the financial health and capacity of the hospital and/or of the network which owns said hospital. This report must include specific profit and loss information for hospital departments, including but not limited to non direct health care services, cardiac care, cancer care, orthopedics, maternity and behavioral health. The department shall promulgate regulations relative to what should be included in these reports.
