The Commonwealth of Massachusetts
An Act tracking emergency room service transfers.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 11 of Chapter 111C of the General Laws is hereby amended in subsection (c) in line 38 by striking the word “and”.
SECTION 2.. Section 11 of Chapter 111C of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting at the end of subsection (c) the following:-
(4) and require annual reporting of the number of patients who were denied services or transferred to another hospital l for emergency room services; provided that the report shall at minimum describe how and when the patient arrived, how it was determined there is a denial or transfer of patients, and where and when the patient was transferred .
