An Act requiring employees at residential facilities licensed by the department of mental health to be equipped with panic buttons. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: SECTION 1. This act may be cited as "Stephanie's Law". SECTION 2. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, a residential facility licensed by the department of mental health shall, as a condition of licensure, provide to the commissioner, upon application for initial license and upon any renewal thereof, evidence that the facility has supplied each employee with a panic button or similar security alert system that allows the employee to call for help in the event of an emergency. |
