An Act relative to the retirement of Penny Harvey.
 

              Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

              Section 1. Notwithstanding any special or general law to the contrary, the Fairhaven School Committee and the Superintendent of schools is hereby granted the authority to place Penelope Harvey on unpaid leave from September 15, 2010 through September 30, 2010.

              Section 2. Upon the approval of the Superintendent and the School Committee of such unpaid leave of absence, the Massachusetts Teachers' Retirement Board shall recalculate Ms. Harvey's retirement benefit to include the period of the full time leave of absence as full time creditable service. The recalculation of Ms. Harvey's benefit shall be retroactive to her effective date of retirement.
