HOUSE DOCKET, NO. 4093 FILED ON: 10/18/2011 HOUSE . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . No. 3760
_______________
October 18, 2011
October 17, 2011 To the Honorable Senate and House of Representatives: Pursuant to the provisions of Article II, Section 8, Paragraph 1, Clause (2) of the Amendments to the Constitution, as amended by Article LXXXIX, I am filing for your consideration the attached legislation entitled, “An Act Repealing an Act Authorizing the Town of Milton to Grant a License for the Sale of All Alcoholic Beverages to Be Drunk on the Premises of a Certain Restaurant.” The Town of Milton’s Board of Selectmen has requested that I file this special legislation on behalf of the Town. The legislation would repeal a previous Act, Chapter 23 of the Acts of 2006, which authorized the Town of Milton to grant a license for the sale of alcohol at a specific location. The property at that location will be leased to another business that does not wish to operate a restaurant and does not want a liquor license. As a result, the Board of Selectmen no longer needs the authorization conferred by the previous Act.
I urge your early and favorable consideration of this bill. Respectfully submitted, ,
Deval L. Patrick, Governor HOUSE . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . No. 3760
