An Act to designate an additional voting precinct in the City of Quincy. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: SECTION 1. Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Quincy to petition the General Court to enact a Special Law to request that a Home Rule Petition be filed with the State Legislature to designate 1000 Southern Artery, Original an additional voting precinct known as Ward 2 Precinct 3A, for the benefit of those residents residing at 1000 Southern Artery, Original. SECTION 2. Not withstanding any general or special law to the contrary, Ward 2 Precinct 3A shall be one precinct for the purpose of forming congressional, representative, senatorial or councilor districts but shall have 2 polling places for the purposes of voting at any state or municipal elections. One such polling location shall be located in 1000 Southern Artery to serve voters residing within 1000 Southern Artery, Original Building and shall be known as Ward 2 Precinct 3A and other polling location shall be located at a location to be designated by the city council in accordance with the provisions of general laws chapter 54, § 24 to serve all others in Ward 2 Precinct 3 and shall be known as 95 Martensen Street, Ward 2 Precinct 3. SECTION 3. The Board of Registrars and the City Clerk of the City of Quincy may take all necessary actions to assure compliance with this act including, but not limited to, assuring the accuracy of the voting lists as located at each polling location set forth in section 1. The Board of Registrars and City Clerk shall divide Ward 2 Precinct 3 into sub-precincts as set forth in section 1, and only the names of voters who reside in each sub-precinct shall appear on the voting list for the sub-precinct. |
