The undersigned legislators and/or citizens respectfully petition for the passage of the accompanying bill: An Act relative to the elect ion of the members of the board of public works of the town of Hopkinton. _______________ PETITION OF:

An Act relative to the election of the members of the board of public works of the town of Hopkinton.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. At the next annual town election in the town of Hopkinton at which the 3 members of the board of public works are to be elected the candidate receiving the highest number of votes shall be elected for a term of 3 years, the candidate receiving the second highest number of votes shall be elected for a term of 2 years and the candidate receiving the third highest number of votes shall be elected for a 1 year term. Upon the expiration of their terms all members shall be elected for a term of 3 years. SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage. |
