An Act Relative to the Hamilton Board of Selectmen.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
AN ACT INCREASING THE MEMBERSHIP OF THE BOARD OF SELECTMEN IN THE TOWN OF HAMILTON.
SECTION 1. The number of members of the board of selectmen of the town of Hamilton shall be increased to 5. Each selectman shall serve for a 3 year term with not more than 2 selectmen’s terms to run concurrently. Notwithstanding the preceding sentence, at the next annual town election following at least 65 after the effective day of this act, an additional member shall be elected to an initial 2-year term and 1 additional member shall be elected to a 3-year term. Nothing in this act shall effect the terms of those members serving as selectmen on the effective date of this act.
SECTION 2 . This act shall take effect upon its passage.
