Whereas
, The deferred operation for this act would tend to defeat it
s purpose, which is for

to establish a sick leave bank for a certain employee of the department of developmental services, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.
Be it enacted by the Se
nate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Notwithstanding any general or special law or rule or regulation to the contrary, the department of developmental services shall establish a sick l eave bank for Lila Kate Smith, an employee of the department. An employee of the department may voluntarily contribute 1 or more sick, personal or vacation days to the sick leave bank for use by Lila Kate S mith. Whenever Lila Kate Smith terminates employ ment with the department or requests to dissolve the sick leave bank, any remaining time in the sick leave bank shall be transferred to the extended illness leave bank. Sick leave bank days shall not be used for absences unrelated to the illness or disabil ity that necessitated the establishment of the sick leave bank as determined by the department. |
