CHAPTER 538 AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS' SERVICES TO PAY A CERTAIN SUM OF MONEY TO THE TOWN OF WESTPORT FOR CERTAIN BENEFITS PAID BY SAID TOWN.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

There shall be allowed and paid out of the state treasury to the town of Westport, subject to appropriation and subject to the approval of the commissioner of veterans' services, a sum, not exceeding fifty-two thousand three hundred thirty dollars and sixty-nine cents, as reimbursement, under the provisions of section six of chapter one hundred and fifteen of the General Laws, for veterans' benefits paid by said town in the years nineteen hundred and eighty through nineteen hundred and eighty-two. Said reimbursement not having been made because of a failure of said town to make a proper and seasonable report thereof to said commissioner. As a condition of payment, said commissioner shall require the town to present evidence that said sum was paid in compliance with section five of said chapter one hundred and fifteen.
