CHAPTER 12 AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE STATE TREASURER TO ISSUE CERTAIN BONDS OF THE COMMONWEALTH PREVIOUSLY AUTHORIZED.

Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to immediately facilitate the issuance of certain bonds of the commonwealth previously authorized and in anticipation of the issuance of which moneys have been advanced from the state treasury, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1. The first paragraph of section 3 of chapter 747 of the acts of 1970 is hereby amended by striking out, in lines 8 and 9, the words "but not later than June the thirtieth, nineteen hundred and eighty-five".

SECTION 2. The second paragraph of said section 3 of said chapter 747 is hereby amended by striking out the last sentence and inserting in place thereof the following sentence:- The initial maturities of such bonds shall be payable not later than one year from the date of issue thereof, and the entire issue not later than June the thirtieth, two thousand and fifteen.

Approved April 1, 1988.
