Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1. Section 1 of chapter 543 of the acts of 1920 is hereby amended by striking out, in line 2, the words "of Palmer" and inserting in place thereof the words:- and Palmer Water District Number One.

SECTION 2. Section 9 of said chapter 543 is hereby amended by adding the following paragraph:-

The rates established by the district for supplying water in accordance with the provisions of this act shall be used to pay the current expenses of the district with regard to water supply purposes, to provide funds for paying the cost of all necessary maintenance, repairs, replacements and renewals of the water system and for any capital improvements to said water system. No monies collected for water supply purposes shall be used or expended for fire district purposes.

SECTION 3. Said chapter 543 is hereby further amended by inserting after section 9 the following section:-

Section 9A. All monies necessary for the fire district purposes of the district shall be raised by taxation in accordance with the provisions of section sixty-nine of chapter forty-eight of the General Laws and no such monies so raised shall be used or expended for the water supply purposes of said district.
