Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

The office of town treasurer-collector of the town of Sharon is hereby established. Said town treasurer-collector shall be appointed, upon the expiration of the offices of town treasurer and town collector, by the board of selectmen for a term not to exceed three years and shall perform all the duties hereinbefore performed by the treasurer and tax collector of said town and shall have such other powers as may from time to time be established. Said town may establish by by-law such qualifications and terms of employment for such office as it deems necessary and appropriate. Any vacancy in said office shall be filled in like manner for the unexpired portion of such term of office.
