CHAPTER 265 AN ACT PROVIDING THAT AN ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT IN THE GAS AND ELECTRIC LIGHT DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF WESTFIELD BE SUBJECT TO THE PROVISIONS OF THE CIVIL SERVICE LAW.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of section forty-eight of chapter thirty-one of the General Laws or any other general or special law or rule to the contrary, Jane Brzys of the city of Westfield, employed in the position of administrative assistant in the gas and electric light department in said city of Westfield, shall be deemed to be appointed as a permanent employee in said position in accordance with the provisions of said chapter thirty-one; provided, however, that such appointment shall not impair any rights, protections, or benefits, including without limitation, rights provided under the provisions of said chapter thirty-one, to which said Jane Brzys is entitled on the effective date of this act.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect as of April first, nineteen hundred and eighty-five.
