Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

The third paragraph of section 11 of chapter 43C of the General Laws, as appearing in the 1990 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out clause (ii) and inserting in place thereof the following clause:- (ii) the director of municipal finance to serve, ex-officio, as the accountant, auditor, comptroller, treasurer, collector or treasurer-collector of the city or town; provided, however, that no director of municipal finance shall serve, ex-officio, as both accountant, auditor or comptroller and treasurer, collector or treasurer-collector.
