CHAPTER 188 AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR AN ORDERLY AND JUST APPLICATION OF A CERTAIN PROVISION OF THE COMMONWEALTH'S PENSION LAWS.

Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose which is to immediately provide for an orderly and just application of a certain provision of the Commonwealth's pension laws, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1. The last paragraph of paragraph (h) of subdivision (1) of section 4 of chapter 32 of the General Laws, added by section 2 of chapter 71 of the acts of 1996, is hereby amended by inserting after the words "make up payments", in the first sentence, the following words:- , for each year of creditable service sought,.

SECTION 2. The provisions of this act shall take effect as of April twenty-fifth, nineteen hundred and ninety-six.
