CHAPTER 402 AN ACT PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR FALSELY ASSUMING THE IDENTITY OF A GAS OR ELECTRIC COMPANY OFFICER OR SERVANT.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

Chapter 164 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after section 126, as appearing in the 1994 Official Edition, the following section:-

Section 126A. Whoever falsely assumes, pretends to be or holds himself out as an officer or servant of a gas or electric company for the purpose of gaining access to any premises shall be punished by imprisonment in a house of correction for not more than two years or by a fine of not more than one thousand dollars, or both such fine and imprisonment.
