Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives
in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same,
as follows:
SECTION 1.
Notwithstanding the provisions of section 26 of chapter 31 of the General Laws or any other general or special law to the
contrary, Joseph Jackson, Jr., so long as he passes the required written and
physical examinations for entrance to the fire service, shall have his name
certified for original appointment to the fire department of the city of Quincy
before all others in the eligible list for such appointment.
SECTION 2.
Notwithstanding the provisions of section 26 of
chapter 31 of the General Laws or any other general or special law to the
contrary, Thomas F. Bamberry, Jr., so long as he passes the required written
and physical examinations for entrance to the fire service, shall have his name
certified for original appointment to the fire department of the city of Quincy
before all others in the eligible list for such appointment.
SECTION 3.
This act shall take effect upon its passage.
