Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives
in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same,
as follows:
SECTION 1.
A duly sworn officer of the town of Brookline, who is
authorized to exercise police powers within said town, may
exercise all such police powers
within 500 yards into the corporate limits of
the city of Boston and the city of Newton, as if such officer were a duly sworn
officer of said cities.
SECTION 2.
A duly sworn officer of the city of Boston, who is
authorized to exercise police powers within said city, may
exercise all such police powers
within 500 yards into the corporate limits of
the town of Brookline and the city of Newton, as if such officer were a duly
sworn officer of said town or city.
SECTION 3.
A duly sworn officer of the city of Newton, who is
authorized to exercise police powers within said city, may
exercise all such police powers
within 500 yards into the corporate limits of
the town of Brookline and the city of Boston, as if such officer were a duly
sworn officer of said town or city.
SECTION 4.
This act shall take effect upon its acceptance by the city
of Boston and the city of Newton, in the manner provided by law and upon its
acceptance in the town of Brookline by a majority vote of the board of
selectmen.
SECTION 5.
Chapter 607 of the acts of 1979 is hereby repealed.
