Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of any general or special law to the contrary, all acts and proceedings taken by the town of Brookfield at the special town election held on September 1, 1999 and all actions taken pursuant thereto are hereby validated, ratified and confirmed, notwithstanding any defect or omission in the warrant or ballot for said election relative to the office of cemetery commissioner or the office of trustee for shade tree and cemetery funds.

SECTION 2. The expiration date for the terms of office of cemetery commissioner and of trustee for shade tree and cemetery funds that appeared on the ballot for the town of Brookfield at the special election held on September 1, 1999, shall be in May of 2000.

SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
