Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives
in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same,
as follows:
SECTION 1.
Section 64 of chapter 131 of the General Laws, as
appearing
in the 2000 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after
the
word "crossbow", in line 2, the following words:- , except as provided in
section 69.
SECTION 2.
Section 69 of said chapter 131,
as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out the third sentence and
inserting in place thereof the following 3 sentences:- Nothing in this
paragraph shall permit the use of crossbows by any person other than a person
who is permanently disabled such
that
the person cannot operate a conventional bow and arrow, as certified by a
licensed physician. Any costs associated with obtaining the medical
documentation, re-evaluation of the information or a second medical opinion are
the responsibility of the applicant claiming a permanent disability. The
issuance of a crossbow permit under
this
section shall be subject to rules and regulations promulgated by the director.
